Both games use the same, bland, grey and brown palette, it seems - but that’s to be expected. I’m naming them last, because graphics don’t mean much if the game is bad. The only thing, I suppose, that I like about Resident Evil _slightly_ more than Left 4 Dead is the graphics. The music helps set the mood much more than Resident Evil ever did for me. But you give me the tune that indicates there’s a horde coming in Left 4 Dead, and I’m going to notice it. I can’t remember anything that stick out, in my mind, from any of the Resident Evil game. I much more prefer the music in Left 4 Dead, as well. Apparently they’re aren’t true “zombies” anymore, but it’s a virus that just makes them violent? That’s what I’ve been told.) (Have not played Resident Evil 5’s demo much I don’t know if it’s changed. The variety in the boss zombies, along with the randomness, means the game is only slightly similar to the last one you played where as in Resident Evil, there was no point in me playing through it again, because nothing was going to change much. I just prefer fast, smart zombies to the slow, shambling, “I’m gonna eat your brain once I get over there just hold on for 45 seconds” zombies. The enemies are much more interesting as well. First person view isn’t much better, I’ll admit, but at least it fits better to a survival game if I want to survive, I’d like to be in control of as much of my view as I can. Resident Evil 4, and now 5, have annoyed me even more, because apparently it’s the new trend to put everything over the shoulder as if you’re running around with your left eye closed. Resident Evil annoyed me to no end with its bad camera angles and bad voice-acting, or just script-writing in general. Gameplay is also much more fun, for me, in Left 4 Dead. The random dialogue from the 4 survivors is interesting to hear as well, instead of the scripted event dialogue that comes from Resident Evil. Lighting effects, film grain, and other things make the player feel more like they’re a pivotal part of the minor story/survival, instead of just shooting zombies to find the next cutscene. Airport means working plane.” “Unless anyone else has a better plan, I say let’s head there.”), it feels much more. Though Left 4 Dead doesn’t have much of a story (“That plane’s headed to the airport. While I don’t mind the story in Resident Evil, the pace at which is rolls out is rather slow, in my opinion. I’d prefer Left 4 Dead over Resident Evil.
